The Surge in Brevard County, Florida
This past two weeks has seen a surge of messages for cough, colds, congestions, body aches in all ages infants to adults. There have also been some gastroenteritis symptoms which the gut feeling peptide has helped abate.
Florida's respiratory season is ramping up faster than average this year, with flu (primarily Influenza A H3N2) leading the charge alongside RSV and COVID-19. In Brevard specifically:
Local health data shows a 35% uptick in urgent care visits (250-300 daily across centers), with 15-20 flu-suspect cases per site—far above baseline. The Brevard County Health Department reports 50% of tested samples positive for flu, double the typical 20-30% early-season rate.
Statewide, emergency room visits for flu are "very high," with over 30 counties (including nearby Volusia) declaring outbreaks. Wastewater surveillance indicates moderate flu levels.
Nationally, CDC data as of Dec. 1 pegs acute respiratory illness at low levels overall, but RSV is climbing in the Southeast (including Florida), with kid ED visits up among 0-4-year-olds.
Iron DPC protocol:

1. Ivermectin/hydroxychloroquine/methylene blue
2. Hydrocortisone oral tablets
3. 20% Acetylcysteine solution for nebulization and budesonide +working nebulizer
4. Thymosin Alpha 1 or thymogen to aid it dendritic cell maturation to clear illness faster or Gut feeling to heal gastrointestinal inflammation (i’ll try to keep these in stock at the office).
5. Biocidin throat spray @biocidin
6. Intranasal iodine @CofixRx can order off fullscript or pick up in office (restocking this week)
Besides that we must optimize all hormones, vitamins. Ensure you get sunlight, strength train, eat real food.
We cannot lockdown, mask or vaccinate our way out of these. These same health and early treatment principles are what I studied and applied to thousands of patients within a few weeks of the first wave of COVID that came to the US. These protocols and optimization is what all Iron DPC members have access to. We’re always ready and are innovative enough to adapt to any bioweapon novelty.
The Australian Intranasal Vaccine immune-escape variant theory
Australia's 2025 flu season was brutal—70,279 lab-confirmed cases by April (58% up from 2024), the highest early-season tally since 1991. Kids under 5 had the second-highest case rate. The intranasal live-attenuated vaccine (FluMist/Fluvax nasal) was rolled out more widely for ages 2-17.
Unsurprisingly this year's circulating H3N2 (and global drifts) evolved after vaccine strain selection, reducing effectiveness against infection (of course).
Overseas: Flu Surges in Japan and England
Japan and the UK are ground zero for aggressive H3N2 variants right now, which could easily jet to Florida via transatlantic flights.
Japan: This is the worst flu season in 25 years, with 317,812 diagnoses in the last week of December alone (from 5,000 clinics)—a record high since 1999 tracking began. Cases hit warning levels at the fastest pace in a decade, affecting all 47 prefectures (e.g., 104+ patients per facility in Oita). A new H3N2 subclade K variant (more contagious, intense symptoms) emerged post-vaccine formulation, leading to 6x more cases than 2024; over 4,000 hospitalizations and 100+ school closures by mid-October. Tamiflu shortages are hitting hard due to demand.
England/UK: Hospitals are prepping for a "once-in-a-decade" wave, driven by a mutated H3N2 strain spreading fast in kids/young adults (R-value ~1.4 vs. usual 1.1-1.2). GP consultations for flu-like illness jumped to 5.4 per 100,000 (week ending Oct. 12), with hospital admissions at 1.27 per 100,000. UKHSA reports early surges in schools, with NHS expanding same-day care to brace for elderly spillover.
