This study is the first of its kind looking at three different measurements of iodine in the population. It also assessed toxic halide elimination values for fluoride and bromide. This data helps support our efforts

to remove fluoride from the water. It confirms what we have known that more than half the Brevard population is moderately deficient in iodine per WHO developing countries criteria and that no one is iodine optimized per the iodine challenge test. From other studies and mechanistic understanding of iodine in the human body we understand this puts the population at risk for at least 5 different cancers. Think about this study the next time you “March for breast cancer awareness”.

I found this study really interesting because it explained the topic in a simple way without making it feel too technical.
