My Health Stack for Recovery
I recently overcame a flu/COVID strain in just 24 hours. You might wonder what my secret was. My approach included optimized hormones, a clean diet, and reverse osmosis water with trace minerals added back. I also consumed pre and probiotics from fiber and fermented vegetables. My diet consisted of complex carbs and no added sugars. Routine exercise, cold plunges, and sauna sessions were also part of my regimen.
Symptoms Encountered
Many patients have been visiting the Iron DPC office with various symptoms. Common complaints include:
Fever
Body aches
Chills
Sweats
Cough
Congestion
Abdominal pain
Diarrhea
Nausea
Vomiting
Headaches
Initially, I was unsure if I was experiencing symptoms or if I had simply overtrained. I had an intense workout at 5 AM, followed by tennis practice at 8 AM, and then saw patients. Later, I played a tennis match in the afternoon. However, I recalled a similar experience three years ago. When I woke up the next morning feeling fatigued, with bilateral arm tendinopathy, body aches, and some GI upset, I suspected it was the flu. The Iron DPC office had seen many cases recently.
Vital Signs and Initial Thoughts
Logan checked my vitals. My heart rate was 100 beats per minute, which is tachycardia for me since my resting heart rate is usually under 60. My temperature was 99.9°F, which felt high.
Acute Treatments Used
To combat the illness, I employed several acute treatments:
Methylene Blue: 30 mg in the morning.
Quicksilver Scientific: Sublingual glutathione, vitamin C, and a multivitamin taken immediately.
At the HPA, I did a cold plunge at 36°F for three minutes. Then, I completed my longest sauna session ever, lasting 35 minutes at 190°F.
I injected 1.5 mg of Thymosin Alpha 1 and 1 mg of KLOW. I filmed this process to show how it was done. Looking back, I noticed I appeared stiff and slow, likely due to not feeling like myself.
I also took a 50 mg Ioderol tablet, known for its antiviral and oxidative effects against pathogens.
Ordering the Protocol
You can order most of this protocol through Fullscript and Integrative Peptides. We keep Integrative Peptides in stock at the office. The gut feeling has been flying off the shelf lately. The combination of BPC, KPV, Akkermansia, and bovine immunoglobulins has proven effective in stopping diarrhea and abdominal pain, as I discussed in my Wolverine Protocol lecture. Thymogen oral has also been beneficial in training dendritic cells to mature and clear infected cells, as described in my lecture on thymus peptides.
Injectable Peptides
While injectable peptides are an option, they can be logistically challenging to obtain. They need to be distributed by a healthcare provider, reconstituted, kept cold, and injected. Additionally, they tend to be more expensive, especially when considering dosage costs.
Recommendations for Patients
I recommend that all patients keep Quicksilver Scientific sublingual glutathione, vitamin C, and a multivitamin on hand. It’s also wise to stock up on intranasal iodine and Biocidin throat spray.
I suggest having a household nebulizer and at least one vial of 20% nebulized acetylcysteine solution. If you're unaware of this essential mucolytic, please refer to my old lecture from 2023. When congestion hits, you don’t want to be without it. Unfortunately, commercial pharmacies rarely carry it unless we specifically ask them to.
Challenges with Commercial Pharmacies
During the pandemic, commercial pharmacies stopped carrying nebulizers for some strange reason. This was frustrating, as I had been prescribing nebulized budesonide extensively. They also denied my prescriptions for Hydroxychloroquine, and I didn’t even attempt to use ivermectin with them. Pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens, Publix, and Walmart have caused delays in patient care by requiring prior authorizations for inexpensive medications like tadalafil, which I can dispense for $5 for 30 tablets. They often deny medications based on outdated prior authorization laws, which is why I prefer to avoid them.
Preferred Pharmacies
I favor small mom-and-pop pharmacies or compounding pharmacies that have not succumbed to bureaucratic red tape. Some good compounding pharmacies include:
Melbourne Pharma: Run by Mike Boehmer, who delivered over 50,000 ivermectin prescriptions during the pandemic.
MixmyRx: Managed by Tuan.
Strive Pharmacy: Actively fighting against FDA censure on peptides.
Brooksville Pharmacy: A reliable option.
Other small commercial pharmacies worth mentioning are:
West Cocoa Compounding and Pharmacy
Prime Care Pharmacy on Babcock
Bayside Lakes Family Pharmacy: Run by Craig, who had no issues with my first ivermectin prescription back in 2020.
The Pharmacy Merritt Island
By following these guidelines and recommendations, you can better prepare yourself for flu and COVID strains. Stay informed and proactive about your health!
